- Wash apples thoroughly and remove cores using an apple corer or small knife. Slice crosswise into thin rounds approximately 1/8 inch thick using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife for uniformity.
- Pat apple slices dry with paper towels to eliminate excess surface moisture, which promotes even crisping and prevents sogginess during cooking.
- Place apple slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook in multiple batches if necessary to maintain proper air circulation.
- Lightly coat slices with oil spray or brush if desired. Evenly distribute ground cinnamon over all surfaces, adding optional sugar at this stage for enhanced sweetness.
- Cook at 325°F for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping all slices after 7 minutes to ensure uniform texture. Watch carefully during the final minutes to prevent over-browning.
- Transfer golden, crisp chips to a wire rack to cool completely. Chips will continue to crisp as they cool. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
